How do you make time?

OK! So I have a question. How in the world does everyone keep up with this blogging stuff? My friend Anna and I (both fairly new to the blog thing) were talking and we both realized that this is almost like a full time job. How does everyone make time for it? I try and check mine in the morning and at night before bed, but still! It takes time to go to all your favorite sites and then to comment on a few and then to post one on your own site. Wow! This is wearing me out and I have just started really. Some of you have been blogging for a year or two. Crazy I say!!!!I love it though. It really is my new found hobby. Can it count as a hobby? So the question remains: How does everyone keep up with their blogging? I need some helpful hints here.

(sorry--I messed up on that first one--I'm pretty new at blogging too!)

I think your blog is really cute! I found it via a comment you left on one of the blogs I check. It totally takes time; I'm not good at updating mine as often as I'd like to, but I try to check everyone's every day because they update almost daily. I wish I had some helpful hints, but I really don't; I just wanted to drop by and say I think yours is great!

Hello-- I do not have any helpful hints on keeping up with your blog but I can tell that there is no pressure, this is for you to tell your feelings and if that is everyday or just once a week that is ok, its still great.

Welcome to the family! It is very addictive, I read a friends blog for almost a month then commented once and I have been hooked every since. LOL

I usually update at night and read through every blog which I've linked coz somehow we've all become blog buddies.

This is a strange feeling really coz whenever there's something fuunny, we all shared the joy. Likewise when it's something sad, I've noticed that all blog buddies will be there to 'lend a shoulder' literally.

So, just be ourselves and enjoy the friendship :P

Well first, welcome to blogging and thanks for visiting my site. I only started 3 months ago as well so I know how you feel. Whenever I ask myself where my time went, the answer usually is related to blogging. It is very time consuming and very addictive. Just pace yourself and remember you do not have to read every post of every person, nor do you have to post all the time. I try to devote a chunk of time a few times a week, usually in the evenings. I put up a new post and then go around and read my links and anyone who has left a comment on my site (like now!) Just remember it is for you and should be fun, not overwhelming.

Howdy, I found you while blog-hopping. I have a large blogroll, but it is mostly for me so I don't forget fun blogs I find. I only have about seven I check on a regular basis (two or three times a week during nap time for the kiddies). If I ever have a couple of spare minutes during the day or evening, I will check three and only three of the other blogs. If there is ever a time I have a huge chunk (like tonight) then I peruse until I can peruse no longer.

You just have to find what is right for you and don't feel any pressure to blog beyond what you feel comfortable with.

It does help that my computer is in my kitchen.

It better be a hobby, cuz it's the only one I've got!

I am an addict... I don't make time for it, it makes time for itself sucking me in at any free moment.

It's a good and bad thing. I like documenting Liam's life and reading up on other people's life, but yes, it takes time. I can't blame my lack of sleep on Liam anymore. :(

Girl, I don't know what the heck I did online before blogs! I'm a night owl, so I do my blogging then. But I check other blogs in the mornings....And at night too! hahahaha

I have a very *busy* 4 yr. old but I usually try to blog first thing in the morning, during his (almost non-existant) nap or late at night. I take breaks from time to time but I always miss it too much! I have met so many wonderful people this way!

That is a BIG question...one I still haven't been able to answer for myself. I've been blogging for a little over a year and in the beginning, I found myself a little convicted of how much time I spent on the computer. Truth be known, it had become, for me, an idol.

I've had to take a step back at times and reflect on how much time I was spending blogging and how much time I wasn't spending taking care of my home and family.

Just recently (and I've shared this before with other bloggers)...the Lord spoke to my heart and said, "Don't spend so much time writing about your life that you forget to live it." It was an "ouch" moment...but an epiphany, nonetheless.

What I've started to do is never blog and read other blogs on the same day. I do one or the other. And, I set a time limit as I travel down my blog roll. Also, I try to do it in the morning before my kiddos wake up so that I can give them my full attention.

And yes...this is most definitely a hobby. :-) And for me...it's also somewhat of a ministry. I've met some amazing women who have blessed me and who I hope I've blessed as well.

It helps when I have a main computer upstairs and a laptop in the my kitchen (wireless internet). Usually I check in when my kids are eating, napping, or busy with something else.

FYI: You are doing great!!!

I check in on my emails & blogs throughout the day, and since I am still nursing Gray, sometimes I'll sit at the computer and read while he eats... there are is always a blog to be read and a new blog to be found!

When I started out, I spent way too much time on the computer. In the last few months, I've cut way back. That means that some days I don't read any blogs or I read real quick but don't comment. I will sometimes go for days without writing on my own, also.

BUT, that's okay because that means my time was being spent elsewhere. I have to remind myself daily to keep my priorities straight...God, husband, children, home, church,...(way down the line)...blogging. This means being honest with myself about how much time I'm spending on the computer. At times, I've found myself justifying or purposely ignoring the amount of time I spend on the computer. But, it got hard to justify or ignore, once I started to really see how much I was neglecting my top priorities.

So, my advice...keep your priorities straight and be honest with yourself about how well you are keeping those priorities.

this is my first time coming to your blog... I found it through Crystal's blog.

I have all my blogs listed in a seperate folder under favorites and I just go down the list.

I also have a seperate folder for xanga's and myspace's.

I have 4 kids but I seem to break away during the day to check on everyone. There's some blogs that I know they post every day and then there's others that only post every other day or so.

I've been blogging for a little over a year now. I love it!

Try bloglines. You enter all the blogs you like and it tells you when they have a new post. No need to check blogs you like when they haven't posted

Um...I don't clean my house as often. And sometimes I don't play with my daughter as often as I should at night, honestly. If she wants to, I do, but if she asks to watch tv, I usually let her. So I can read blogs. Sometimes I feel like a terrible mother about that, but it puts me in a much better mood and sometimes I just need a break! :)

Usually I'm either reading or writing between 7-7:30, then during naptime some, and then at night too. It's definitely a hobby, I've pretty much cut out reading and shopping!

Found you thru blog hopping as well. My advice is you HAVE to subscribe to www.bloglines.com to manage them all. There really is no easier way.

BTW - Welcome to the Blogosphere! :)

I'm wondering the same thing, especially since my kids are home more this summer. I've been doing it before they wake up and after they go to bed (which has been FAR too late in summertime!!) then only check email for comments mid-day. I use bloglines. I like the comment about reading and writing on opposite days. Thanks for coming by my site. Your family is beautiful.
